Studies show that there are over 100,000 OWNED CATS in Scotland that are NOT NEUTERED!

We believe that neutering is THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR in improving cat welfare, it makes the BIGGEST IMPACT of all interventions by:

  • Reducing the number of unwanted litters - rescues in Scotland are already overwhelmed with pregnant cats and kittens - the costs involved are HUGE and it is unsustainable

  • Reducing unwanted behaviours in cats - aggression, fighting, straying, spraying, smells and stress!

  • Improvement of a overall cats health, less cancer, FIV, disease, infections and anxiety!

  • Improvement in Communities - Happier and healthier cats, means happier and healthier communities!

WHY HAS THE SITUATION CHANGED?

Neutering assistance has been available for many years via larger charities, however in 2025, this has been SIGNIFICANTLY reduced in many areas, resulting in cat owners facing impossible challenges at a time when:

* Increased costs for vets has resulted in the rise of neutering costs

* The cost of living crisis meaning many people simply cannot afford neutering costs!

This support is for people who ARE NOT IRRESPONSIBLE! They are Pensioners, working families on low income, students and people with disabilities...people are struggling to feed their families, so this is a GENUINE NEED!

Owning a pet is PROVEN to improve physical and mental health, so people need this support more than ever!!

We want to grow this campaign and make it both ACCESSIBLE AND AFFORDABLE to as many people as possible across Scotland who need support. It's the ONLY way cat welfare can improve in Scotland for the long term and ensure that owning a cat doesn't become a privilege for the wealthy!!!
